CURRENT SCERP PROJECTS

SCERP requests proposals on an annual basis from researchers at member institutions. The consortium supports projects that:

SCERP's annual competitive research projects are subjected to an intensive and critical selection process of research prioritization that includes:

1) An extensive process of stakeholder consultation that is ongoing;
2) A risk assessment to determine threat level, exposure in terms of population affected and time frame;
3) Determination of the applicability of particular research priorities to the entire border;
4) A review of previous work on various research areas;
5) Assessing the appropriateness of academia's role in addressing a specific problem; and
6) Assessing the time frame of a potential solution.

Proposed projects are currently under review for FY2003-2004; below are lists of projects funded for FY 2002. For a list of other projects conducted by SCERP, please visit the Research Archive.
